TAKATA RECALL, IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 2 YEARS SINCE WE GOT THE RECALL NOTICE. I HAVE CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES TO CHECK ON PARTS. THEY SAY THEY CAN'T GET PARTS.

TAKATA RECALL I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL FOR MY TRUCK EARLY IN 2016. WHEN I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALER ABOUT GETTING IT FIXED, THEY TOLD ME THEY DON,T HAVE THE PARTS AND MAY TAKE A WHILE, BUT SAID THE TRUCK WAS STILL SAFE TO DRIVE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 FORD RANGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. BOTH AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED.

ON 10-07-2007 MY 2007' FORD RANGER PICK UP BURNED UP IN A FIRE THAT STARTED ON THE INSIDE OF THE PASSENGER SIDE WHERE THE AIR BAG WAS. ALSO THE RIGHT KICK PANEL WAS ALSO BURNED. UP. THE FIRE DEPT. CAME OUT PUT THE FIRE OUT AND TOLD US.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SWITCHES FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 15, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER AT 1-866-436-7332.

Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the driver and passenger air bag module, and replace either the module or the inflator, if necessary, free of charge. The recall began March 17, 2021.
