Entered the highway and attempted to accelerate and bring car up to speed to match other cars. Car reached 55 mph but could not go faster and did not shift into higher gear. Noticed a high pitch noised coming from engine compartment.

MY WIFE WAS PARKED AT A GAS STATION 5 MILES FROM OUR HOME AND ALL OUTLETS AND LIGHTS BEGAN BILLOWING SMOKE INTO THE CABIN. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND THEY DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY. IT HAS 30000 MILES DRIVEN.

I WAS ATTEMPTING TO MOVE THE SECOND ROW BUCKET SEAT FORWARD. I PULLED ON THE SIDE OF THE SEAT AND THE ENTIRE SEAT FOLDED, INCLUDING THE HEADREST.

Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2016 Chrysler Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles manufactured August 19, 2015 to August 27, 2015.

Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will install new hood striker bolts with the proper torque, free of charge. The recall began on October 22, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler's customer service at 1-800-853-1403.

Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will re-torque the third row seatback nuts, free of charge. The recall began on July 1, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S37.
