I HAVE A 2000 YAMAHA R6, AND I HAVE HAD MOTORCYCYLES MY WHOLE LIFE. MY BIKE HAS ONLY 10,000 MILES AND THE SECOND GEAR IN THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING. YAMAHA CLAIMS THAT THIS IS DUE TO USERS IMPROPERLY SHIFTING.

AS WITH MANY OTHER OWNERS OF THE YAMAHA R6 I HAVE EXPERIENCED PREMATURE FAILURE WITH THE MOTORCYCLES TRANSMISSION WITH ONLY 11,000 MILES ON THE BIKE. WHEN UNDER ACCELERATION IN 2ND GEAR THE BIKE WILL JUMP OUT OF GEAR AND SLIP.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORCYCLES. THE SCREWS HOLDING THE SIDESTAND SWITCH CAN LOOSEN AND FALL OUT DUE TO ENGINE HEAT AND VIBRATION. IF THIS HAPPENS, THE SIDESTAND SWITCH WOULD NOT FUNCTION CORRECT
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SCREWS HOLDING THE SIDESTAND SWITCH.
