I TRIED TWO DAYS AGO BUT MY MEMO DID NOT GO THRU. MY REFERENCE # 447680 WHILE IN AN I95 REST STOP IN SANTEE, SC MY UNIT BROKE INTO FLAMES WHEN THE GENERATOR WAS STARTED TO MAKE COFFEE. I WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE AND CALL 911.

THE VEHICLE WENT INTO "LIMP HOME MODE" ( NO POWER BOOST FROM TURBO) AFTER 5 HOURS OF DRIVING AT 75-85 DEGREES F. THIS WENT ON FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES AT WHICH POINT THE POWER SLOWLY CAME BACK TO NORMAL WITH OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE AT 56 DEGREES F.

WINNEBAGO IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006 THROUGH 2011 WINNEBAGO VIEW AND ITASCA NAVION MOTOR HOMES BECAUSE THE DINETTE AREA SEAT BELT RESTRAINTS ON THOSE VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIRE

Remedy: WINNEBAGO WILL ADD ADDITIONAL SEAT BELT ANCHORAGES FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 12, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT WINNEBAGO AT 1-800-537-1885.

Remedy: WINNEBAGO IS WORKING WITH CUMMINS TO REPLACE THE GENERATORS FREE OF CHARGE (PLEASE SEE 07E076). OWNERS MAY CONTACT CUMMINS AT 812-377-3713 OR WINNEBAGO AT 641-585-3535.

Remedy: SPRINTER IS HANDLING THE REMEDY FOR THIS CAMPAIGN (PLEASE SEE 07V594). DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SPRINTER AT 1-800-992-1997 OR WINNEBAGO AT 1-641-585-3535.
