Car has 65,000 miles when water-pump failed catastrophically (pump drive shaft sheared) while driving causing breakdown. Needed to be towed to repair facility. 1. Water Pump failed - shaft connecting pully system to impeller sheared in half.

Driving on freeway at about 70 MPH and intermediate shaft failed. Created dangerous situation as engine started billowing smoke, obscuring traffic causing many cars to swerve dangerously and had stop abruptly.

I purchased the 2006 Boxster in July 2010 from a private party, and soon afterward, started to experience intermittent ABS/psm system failure warning lights. The original Porsche warranty was due to expire in January, 2011.
