ON APRIL 3, 2016 I STARTED MY 2007 NISSAN MAXIMA WHICH THE ENGINE SHOOK THEN STALLED AFTER RUNNING FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS. HAD IT TOWED TO A LOCAL NISSAN DEALER WHICH INFORMED ME THAT THE TIMING JUMP AND BENT VALVES NOW NEEDING A NEW ENGINE.

DRIVER SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AFTER DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS SHUT WHILE PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. TERRIBLE SHAKING WHEN GOING 60MPH AND ESPECIALLY BAD WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED, WHICH THEN CAUSE A HARD JERK OR PULL TO THE RIGHT.

TL ' THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN MAXIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED HEAD ON INTO A PARKED VEHICLE.

I HAD TO REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION JAN 2018 WITH NO ASSISTANCE FROM NISSAN. NOT EVEN A BREAK ON REPLACEMENT PRICING. 2007 MAXIMA WITH 78000 NOT DRIVEN HARD OR ON THE HIGHWAY FOR VERY LONG UNTIL 2 YEARS AGO.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE STEERING WHEEL LOCK ASSEMBLY FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON DECEMBER 18, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.
