When parking '07 Nissan Frontier into a parking stall, I pressed on the brake pedal to come to a full stop. The engine then started to race and move the truck forward.

My fuel gauge is not working properly, which has caused the check engine light to stay on constantly. When I fill up with fuel, the fuel gauge will sometimes move up to full, but only after a few starts of the engine.
