95 Nissan 240SX gas tank failure, cracked and leaking gasoline. Nothing was done to the tank, it just cracked and started leaking.

The vehicles fuel tank cracked at mounting strap and started leaking fuel, the tank has a know issue among other owners. The tank is very specific to the chassis with no available replacement.

After driving said vehicle nothing stood out however, towards the next day I smelt fuel and there was a leak roughly 1 meter wide. The gas tank cracked in a spot where other owners of the said vehicle had experienced a crack in the same fashion.

Remedy: Dealers will correct the electrical circuit for the brake warning system so that the warning lamp will illuminate when the low level switch is activated.
