Sudden engine stalling in the middle of a highway with extremely heavy traffic and stopped in the center lane.

The vehicle stalled while driving. I pulled over because as I press on the gas the car wouldnât accelerate in speed . I turned the vehicle off and tried to start the car but it wouldnât start .

There has been a reported issue on the driver side with the bumper separating issue and ive had it replaced same issue and so has my buddy and im hearing that a recall should be coming in regards to fixing this issue.

SAFETY TIMELINE
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2015-2022 Lexus RC, 2016-2020 GS, and 2022 IS vehicles. The low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed June 5, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available.
