2018 JEEP RENEGADE THAT IS ONLY 8 MONTHS OLD WAS PARKED ALONG A STREET IN BLACKSBURG, VA AT NIGHT. THE CAR HAD BEEN PARKED FOR AT LEAST 1 HOUR, MAYBE A BIT LONGER. IT CAUGHT FIRE ON 11/9/18 WHILE OUR SON WAS INSIDE HIS FRIEND'S APARTMENT.

From the first few months we've had this car it will randomly stall out about 10 times over 5 years while driving on busy streets. We've taken it to a Chrysler dealership and were told it was fine, but that we should get more frequent oil changes.

Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began October 2, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is U87.
