I PURCHASED NEW 2014 HONDA ACCORD ON 1/27/14 WITH 34 MILES. ON 1/31/14 WITH ONLY 117 MILES, I WAS ATTEMPTING TO PARK, PERHAPS 2 MPH WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN, THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD ON IT'S OWN WITH GREAT FORCE.

What happened? While driving my 2014 Honda Accord, both the brake and steering warning lights suddenly illuminated. The steering became difficult, indicating a loss of power steering assist.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Honda Accord vehicles. The case for the battery sensor, part of the battery management system, may allow water to get in, potentially causing an electrical short.

Remedy: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the sensor, free of charge. Dealers will perform an interim remedy of applying adhesive to the case to prevent water intrusion. The recall began November 8, 2017.
