TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HARLEY DAVIDSON FXDWG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MOTORCYCLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE MOTORCYCLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE.

R 20060116 — steering

ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, THE INTERNALLY WIRED HANDLEBARS HAVE A POTENTIAL TO CRACK AT THE HOLE WHERE THE WIRES EXIT THE HANDLEBARS BETWEEN THE HANDLEBAR CLAMPS.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE HANDLEBAR WITH ONE WITH A GREATER WALL THICKNESS AND WITH A WIRE EXIT HOLE THAT HAS A SHAPE THAT REDUCES STRESS CONCENTRATION. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 16, 2007. OWNERS
