I NEEDED TO SLOW DOWN ON THE BELT PARKWAY AND WHEN I APPLIED MY BRAKES, THE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR. FIGURING I MAY HAVE SOME BRAKES, I ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE AGAIN.

I NOTICED WET SPOTS ON THE ROAD UNDER THE TRUCK NEAR THE LEFT REAR WHEEL AFTER STOPPING. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION I NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE LINES ARE CORRODED IN MOST PLACES.

MY 2001 GMC YUKON XL BURST INTO FLAMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GIVING MYSELF AND MY 4 OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS SECONDS TO EXIT THE CAR IN TRAFFIC FOR NO KNOWN REASON AND SIGNAL OF FIRE.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 GMC YUKON XL 1500. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE DRY. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE SPUN CLOCKWISE AND ROLLED ONTO THE DRIVER SIDE.

Remedy: HONEYWELL WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE FUEL FILTERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 18, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FRAM CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-890-2075 (OPTION 1).
