I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES AND PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR, I HAD NO BRAKING AT ALL. I WAS ATTEMPTING TO STOP AND PULL INTO A GAS STATION; FORTUNATELY I WAS HEADING UP-HILL. I WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE AND COAST TO A STOP SAFELY.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 GMC SAVANA 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER STICKS AND DISPLAYS INACCURATE SPEEDS. IT USUALLY BECOMES STUCK ANYWHERE BETWEEN 60-70 MPH, REGARDLESS OF THE ACTUAL SPEED THAT IS BEING DRIVEN.

CERTAIN HONEYWELL FRAM RACING BRAND HP4 AND HP8 OIL FILTERS THAT WERE MANUFACTURED FROM MAY 25, 2006, THROUGH SEPTEMBER 14, 2007, AND SOLD FOR USE AS REPLACEMENT EQUIPMENT FOR VEHICLES LIST ABOVE. TH
Remedy: HONEYWELL WILL REPLACE THE AFFECTED OIL FILTERS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN DURING NOVEMBER 2007. OWNERS CAN CONTACT FRAM CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLL-FREE AT 1-800-890-2075.
