I have done research on this well known problem of this part creating a wild horse vehicle at unexpected times. So far GM is not helping, the last visit was confirmed this pump was the problem and a new pump.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 GMC sierra C2500 sle n/a. While driving approximately 55 MPH, the contact noticed an abnormal odor in the vehicle. The contact pulled the vehicle into a shopping center and noticed a puddle of fuel under the vehicle.

2007-11-08Equipment07E088000 Certain honeywell fram racing brand HP4 and HP8 oil filters that were manufactured from May 25, 2006, through September 14, 2007, and sold for use as replacement equipment for vehicles list above.…
Remedy: Honeywell will replace the affected oil filters free of charge. The recall began during November 2007. Owners can contact fram customer service toll-free at 1-800-890-2075.
