My backup camera failed, the frame froze. As I was backing into a parking spot I hit a wall when the screen in the vehicle showed that I was still 5 or 6 feet away.

While driving in traffic on the highway at about 20-30 mph, traffic in my lane slowed further. In response, I applied what should have been an adequate amount of brake pressure to slow down and stop if needed given the following distance I had left.

2026-02-12Power train25V881000 Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Maverick Hybrid and 2020 Escape Hybrid vehicles. The Hybrid Powertrain Control Module (HPCM) software may cause the vehicle to shift into neutral unexpectedly, causing a loss of drive power.
Remedy: Dealers will update the HPCM software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 12, 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 24S33.
