Valve stems have failed 3 times in past year.there was a recall on problem however Ford has refused to inatall new valve stems due to the dangerous condition. I had metal stem installed at my cost.

Recall 01V046000 on valve stems done on 24 apr.2001. Dealer only inspected valve stems, did not replace. Then on 1 June 2001, while driving about 45 MPH driver's rear inside tire went flat due to faulty valve stem. No accident.

When driving uphill vehicle was fine. As downgrading started, consumer noticed transmission had gone out without warning. There was no back pressure from lower gears. Vehicle still at dealer at this time.
