TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FLEETWOOD PROWLER TRAVEL TRAILER. WHILE OPERATING THE TRAILER, THE CONTACT'S BRAND NEW TIRES BEGAN RUBBING AGAINST THE WHEEL WELL. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE FRONT AXLE WAS NOT STABLE AND LIMITED THE SPEED TO 50 MPH.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FLEETWOOD PROWLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN ELECTRICAL FIRE OCCURRED IN THE VEHICLE. THE MAIN WIRE THAT SHE PLUGGED INTO THE BOX FOR ELECTRICITY WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE.

SAFETY TIMELINE
ON CERTAIN TRAVEL TRAILERS, THE AXLE WIDTH IS TOO NARROW CAUSING THE TIRES TO RUB ON THE INSIDE OF THE WHEEL WELL HOUSING.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND CHANGE THE AXLE FREE OF CHARGE. THE MANUFACTURER HAS TELEPHONED ALL DEALERS AND OWNERS CONCERNING THIS RECALL. A FOLLOWUP LETTER WILL BE SENT DURING JANUARY OR FEBRUARY 2006.

CERTAIN CONVENTIONAL AND FIFTH WHEEL TRAVEL TRAILERS MAY HAVE BEEN EQUIPPED WITH IMPROPERLY HARDENED AXLE WHEEL STUDS.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE TRAILER HUB AND DRUM ASSEMBLIES FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MARCH 29, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FLEETWOOD AT 800-455-3307.
