I was in the process of entering a highway from a driveway. I hit the gas pedal and the car took off uncontrollably across the highway, across lanes of traffic, went up an embankment and then back down where the car shut off.

I own a 2008 Chrysler sebring convertible. During the process of lowering the retractable top,I reached into the trunk while standing next to the car to free an object (Cardboard box)that I feared would encumber the operation or damage the top.
