I WAS DRIVING WEST ON HWY 8, GOING 5-10 MILES UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT AND A VEHICLE AT A SIDE ROAD WAS STOPPED AT THE STOP SIGN. HOWEVER, HE THEN PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME INSTEAD OF WAITING, SO IT WAS HIS FAULT.

R 20030922 — latches/locks/linkages

ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, AN INTERNAL HOOD LATCH COMPONENT MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED WITH A CRACK, WHICH COULD PROPAGATE AND BREAK, ALLOWING THE PRIMARY/SECONDARY LATCH SPRING TO DISENGAGE.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE LATCH ASSEMBLY. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN ON SEPTEMBER 22, 2003. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT DAIMLERCHRYSLER AT 1-800-992-1997.
