I bought this vehicle in XXX with about 39k miles. About a year after purchase, I began smelling gasoline in my garage after I filled the tank. I have consulted Corvette forum ([XXX]) and find this is a common problem.

MY HUSBAND WAS PUMPING GAS AT A GAS STATION ON AN INTERSTATE ACCESS ROAD. CAR WAS NOT RUNNING AND WAS LOCKED. HE HAD BEEN AT THE PUMP FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND THEN WALKED INTO THE STORE FOR SOMETHING TO DRINK.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THERE WAS FIRE UNDER THE HOOD AND ALL WARNING LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL ILLUMINATED.

Remedy: GM WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL REPLACE BOTH REAR HATCH HINGES FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 14, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHEVROLET AT 1-800-630-2438.
