WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ONE NIGHT THE LOW BEAMS SUDDENLY WENT OUT. I WAS FORCE TO USE THE HIGH BEAMS UNTIL I COULD PULL OVER. INSIDE THE CAR I COULD SMELL SOMETHING BURNING, SOMETHING ELECTRICAL.

AT 3:30PM THE DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKES IN A LINE OF CARS AT ABOUT 25 MPH. THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE BRAKES FAILED COMPLETELY. THE CAR THEN ACCELLERATED INDEPENDENTLY AND STRUCK ANOTHER CAR IN FRONT. ROAD WAS WET, SLIGHT GRADE.

This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key.

Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will install two key rings and an insert in the key slot or a cover over the key head on all ignition keys, free of charge. The recall began on September 23, 2014.
