On July 12, 2026, I received notice that my 2025 BMW X4 xDrive30i is subject to NHTSA Recall 26V-438 involving the engine starter. I contacted BMW of Austin on July 13 and again on July 27 to schedule the recall repair.

2025-01-28Air bags, structure24V910000 BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2025 X4 xDrive 30i, X4 M40i and X4 M vehicles. The inner-left roof frame near the head air bag may have a crack that can damage the head air bag during deployment.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and if necessary, repair the inner-left roof frame, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 28, 2025. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.
