The contact called on behalf of her daughter, who owns a 2024 BMW X4. The contact stated that while attempting to leave a parking lot driving 5 MPH, there was a loud glass shattering sound coming from the sunroof of the vehicle.

We had snow this afternoon and my wife drove the car home from work. We live on a private road and have a steep driveway. I had her park the car in the road while I plowed the driveway. There was only 1-2â of snow on the ground.

SAFETY TIMELINE
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2024 2 Series Coupe (230i), 330i, X3 sDrive30i, X3 xDrive30i, X3 M40i, and X4 xDrive30i, X4 M40i vehicles. The steering gear may not have been tightened properly, which can allow it to loosen.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the steering gear, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 11, 2024. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.
